INDICATION

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

NOT RECOMMENDED IN
Starcox 120mg Tab is contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulceration or gastrointestinal bleeding. It should not be used in patients with established ischemic heart disease, congestive heart failure, peripheral arterial disease, or cerebrovascular disease. It is contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic or renal impairment. Not recommended during pregnancy, particularly in the third trimester. Patients with sulfonamide hypersensitivity and those who have experienced aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease should avoid this medication.
DRUG INTERACTIONS
Etoricoxib can significantly increase plasma concentrations of warfarin; INR must be closely monitored, especially during initiation and dose changes. Co-administration with lithium elevates lithium levels and increases the risk of toxicity. ACE inhibitors, ARBs, and diuretics may have reduced antihypertensive and natriuretic effects when combined with etoricoxib, and renal function should be monitored. Concurrent use with other NSAIDs or aspirin at anti-inflammatory doses is not recommended. Oral contraceptives and hormone replacement therapies may show elevated plasma levels due to COX-2 inhibition effects on estrogen metabolism.
