INDICATION

Mucogin 4mg Cap is a muscle relaxant indicated for the short-term symptomatic treatment of painful muscle spasm associated with acute musculoskeletal disorders, including cervical and lumbar pain syndromes, sprains, strains, and post-traumatic or post-operative muscle rigidity.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Thiocolchicoside is a semisynthetic derivative of colchicoside that acts as a competitive antagonist at GABA-A receptors and glycine receptors in the spinal cord. By blocking these inhibitory receptors selectively in the spinal interneurons, it reduces pathologically increased muscle tone and spasm without causing generalized CNS depression. It also has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties that contribute to its overall effect in musculoskeletal pain conditions.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

•      Adults: 4mg two to four times daily

•      Maximum duration: 5 to 7 days for oral use

•      Take with or after food to reduce stomach irritation

•      Always follow the dosage and duration prescribed by your doctor

SIDE EFFECTS

Common:

•      Nausea and gastrointestinal discomfort

•      Diarrhoea

•      Dizziness and somnolence

Less common:
