MOBLO 500MG TABLET

Moblo 500mg Tablets Online At Best Price In Pakistan

GENERIC: Mecobalamin 500mcg (Methylcobalamin)

MANUFACTURER: Highnoon Laboratories Ltd.

QUANTITY

30 Tablets

INDICATION

Moblo 500mcg Tablet contains Mecobalamin, the active coenzyme form of Vitamin B12, indicated for the treatment and prevention of Vitamin B12 deficiency and associated neuropathies. It is widely prescribed for peripheral neuropathy, diabetic neuropathy, and megaloblastic anemia caused by Vitamin B12 deficiency. Moblo supports nerve cell regeneration, improving symptoms of numbness, tingling, and weakness in patients with peripheral nerve damage. It also helps normalize elevated homocysteine levels, a risk factor for cardiovascular disease and neurological deterioration.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Mecobalamin is the active form of Vitamin B12 that works directly in the nervous system. Unlike cyanocobalamin, it doesn’t need to be processed by the liver and can enter nerve pathways immediately. It helps convert homocysteine into methionine, which is important for DNA production, myelin formation, and nerve repair. Mecobalamin also supports the healing of damaged nerves by boosting the production of proteins and nucleic acids in nerve cells, helping restore nerve function and conduction.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

•      Adults: One 500mcg tablet three times daily, or as prescribed by a physician.

•      Take with or without food.

•      For diabetic neuropathy: continue treatment for at least 3 months to assess clinical response.

•      Do not exceed the recommended dose without medical supervision.

SIDE EFFECTS

•      Generally very well tolerated

•      Mild nausea or gastrointestinal discomfort

•      Anorexia in rare cases

•      Headache

NOT RECOMMENDED IN

Moblo Tablet is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cobalamin compounds or any tablet excipients. Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy patients should avoid Vitamin B12 supplementation as it may worsen optic atrophy. Patients with polycythemia vera should use caution, as B12 supplementation may worsen the condition. Not recommended in patients with unexplained anemia without investigating the underlying cause.

DRUG INTERACTIONS

Metformin reduces intestinal absorption of Vitamin B12 over time; patients on long-term metformin therapy benefit significantly from mecobalamin supplementation. Proton pump inhibitors and H2-receptor antagonists impair dietary B12 absorption, making supplemental mecobalamin particularly relevant. Chloramphenicol may antagonize the hematopoietic response to Vitamin B12 and should be used cautiously in patients receiving Moblo for anemia. Colchicine has been reported to reduce B12 absorption from the gastrointestinal tract. High-dose folic acid may mask the neurological signs of Vitamin B12 deficiency.

STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep in original packaging and out of reach of children. Do not use after the printed expiry date.
