INDICATION

M-NEC MR 200mg Cap is an antispasmodic agent indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), including abdominal pain, cramps, bloating, and bowel irregularity. It is also used in the management of spasm of the gastrointestinal tract caused by other functional bowel disorders.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Mebeverine is a musculotropic antispasmodic that acts directly on the smooth muscle of the gastrointestinal tract. It blocks sodium channels in smooth muscle cells, reducing the influx of sodium and inhibiting the cascade that leads to muscle spasm. Unlike anticholinergic agents, Mebeverine has no systemic anticholinergic side effects such as dry mouth, blurred vision, or urinary retention. DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

SIDE EFFECTS
