INDICATION

Folic Acid Softgel Jar 60S (Folease) is a daily folic acid supplement indicated for the prevention of folate deficiency, supplementation before and during pregnancy to reduce the risk of neural tube defects, and general nutritional support in women of childbearing age and adults with increased folate requirements.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Folic acid 400mcg in softgel form provides a convenient daily dose that meets the recommended dietary allowance for most adults. The softgel formulation may enhance absorption due to the lipid-based delivery vehicle. After ingestion, folic acid is converted to its active form, tetrahydrofolate, which participates in DNA synthesis, amino acid metabolism, and red blood cell formation. DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

•      Adults: 1 softgel (400mcg) daily or as directed by a physician
