INDICATION

Epan 200mg Syrup is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections including tonsillitis, pharyngitis, otitis media, acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, uncomplicated urinary tract infections, and uncomplicated gonorrhea in adolescents and adults.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

This prevents proper peptidoglycan cross-linking, causing structural instability and bacterial cell death. Its extended spectrum covers both gram-positive and gram-negative pathogens, making it suitable for diverse infections.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

·        Adults and adolescents: 200mg to 400mg daily, either as a single dose or in two divided doses.

·        Using the 200mg/5ml suspension: take 5ml once daily or 2.5ml twice daily.

·        Shake the bottle well before use.

·        May be taken with or without food.

·        Complete the full course as prescribed.

SIDE EFFECTS

Common:

•      Diarrhea or loose stools
