DE MELAN CREAM ONLINE AT BEST PRICE IN PAKISTAN
GENERIC: Skin Lightening and Depigmenting Cream (Kojic Acid + Arbutin + Vitamin C Complex)
MANUFACTURER: Aurel Derma
QUANTITY:
30g per tube
INDICATION
De Melan Cream is a topical depigmenting preparation indicated for the treatment of hyperpigmentation disorders including melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, solar lentigines (sun spots), and uneven skin tone. It is used to reduce excess melanin production in the skin, fade dark spots, and improve overall skin radiance and evenness in adults.
MECHANISM OF ACTION
The depigmenting cream works through multiple melanogenesis-inhibiting mechanisms. Kojic acid is a natural tyrosinase inhibitor derived from fungal fermentation that blocks the rate-limiting enzyme in melanin biosynthesis, reducing melanin production without being toxic to melanocytes. Arbutin (alpha- or beta-arbutin) is a glycosylated hydroquinone derivative that competitively inhibits tyrosinase and also inhibits melanosome maturation. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) acts as an antioxidant that interferes with oxidative pigment formation and reduces existing dark pigmentation by converting dopaquinone back to dopa, inhibiting melanin synthesis at multiple steps. The combination provides synergistic inhibition of melanin synthesis through complementary mechanisms.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
• Apply a thin layer to the affected hyperpigmented areas twice daily (morning and evening)
• Always apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher in the morning over the cream, as sun exposure stimulates melanin production and will reduce the efficacy of depigmenting treatment
• Allow at least 8 to 12 weeks of consistent use to evaluate efficacy
• Always follow your dermatologist's instructions; do not apply to irritated, broken, or sunburned skin
SIDE EFFECTS
Common:
• Mild skin irritation and redness during initial use
• Mild burning or stinging on application in sensitive individuals
• Skin dryness and flaking
• Increased photosensitivity (use sunscreen diligently)
Less common:
• Allergic contact dermatitis in individuals sensitive to kojic acid or arbutin
• Ochronosis (bluish-black skin discoloration with very prolonged use of hydroquinone-containing preparations; less likely with alternative depigmenting agents)
• Paradoxical post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation if skin irritation is severe
• Eye irritation if cream contacts the eyes
NOT RECOMMENDED IN
• Known hypersensitivity to any depigmenting ingredient
• Apply to eyes, mucous membranes, or open skin lesions
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding without dermatologist advice
• Continue use without sunscreen protection; the treatment requires strict UV protection for efficacy and safety
DRUG INTERACTIONS
Topical depigmenting preparations have no significant systemic pharmacokinetic drug interactions. Concurrent use of topical retinoids (tretinoin, adapalene) may enhance depigmenting efficacy and reduce the risk of rebound pigmentation but may also increase skin irritation; coordinate timing with dermatologist guidance.
STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS
Store below 25°C away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep tube tightly closed. Keep out of reach of children.
