INDICATION

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Vitamin C is a potent water-soluble antioxidant that neutralizes reactive oxygen species and supports immune function by enhancing the proliferation and function of lymphocytes, natural killer cells, and phagocytes, and by supporting interferon production. Zinc is essential for the development and function of immune cells and acts as a cofactor for numerous enzymes. DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

•      Adults: 1 sachet once daily dissolved in a glass of water or juice

SIDE EFFECTS

Common:

DRUG INTERACTIONS

High-dose vitamin C reduces warfarin efficacy in some patients; monitor INR. Zinc reduces absorption of tetracycline, fluoroquinolone antibiotics, and levodopa; take at least 2 hours apart. Vitamin C enhances iron absorption and may increase iron overload risk in haemochromatosis. Vitamin D combined with thiazide diuretics increases hypercalcemia risk.
