INDICATION

Clindasol Lotion 30ml is the lotion formulation of the clindamycin phosphate and benzoyl peroxide combination, indicated for moderate acne vulgaris in patients 12 years of age and older. The lotion base is lighter than the gel formulation, making it particularly suitable for patients with oily or combination skin types who prefer a less occlusive texture, or for treatment of larger body surface areas such as the back and chest.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Clindasol Lotion contains clindamycin phosphate and benzoyl peroxide, both working together to treat acne. Clindamycin is converted in the skin to its active form, where it binds to the 50S subunit of bacterial ribosomes and blocks protein synthesis in Cutibacterium acnes, reducing bacterial growth and inflammation. Benzoyl peroxide works by releasing oxygen free radicals inside hair follicles, which kill acne-causing bacteria through oxidative damage. Together, they decrease bacterial load, reduce inflammation, and help prevent the development of antibiotic-resistant strains.
