CALRICH SYRUP

CALRICH SYRUP ONLINE AT BEST PRICE IN PAKISTAN

GENERIC: Calcium Carbonate + Vitamin D3 + Magnesium Sulphate Syrup

MANUFACTURER: SOIS Life Sciences

QUANTITY:

120ml syrup

INDICATION

Calrich Syrup is a combined calcium, vitamin D3, and magnesium supplement indicated for the prevention and treatment of nutritional deficiencies associated with bone and muscle health. It is used in osteoporosis, osteomalacia, rickets, hypocalcemia, muscle cramps, and as a dietary supplement in growing children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, post-menopausal women, and elderly patients requiring supplementation of these essential minerals. The syrup formulation is suitable for children and adults unable to take solid dosage forms.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Calcium carbonate provides ionized calcium for bone mineralization and neuromuscular function. Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is metabolized to active calcitriol, which enhances intestinal calcium and phosphorus absorption and promotes bone mineralization through its effects on vitamin D receptors in intestinal and bone cells. Magnesium is a cofactor for over 300 enzymatic reactions and is essential for the conversion of vitamin D to its active form. Together, these three nutrients provide synergistic bone and muscle support. Magnesium also prevents the constipation commonly associated with calcium supplementation alone by its mild osmotic laxative effect.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Adults: 10ml twice daily with food (morning and evening)

Pregnant and breastfeeding women: 10ml twice daily or as directed by the obstetrician

Children 3 to 12 years: 5ml once or twice daily as directed by a pediatrician

Always follow the dosage recommended by your doctor based on clinical need and dietary calcium intake

SIDE EFFECTS

Common:

Generally, well tolerated at recommended doses

Mild nausea or gastrointestinal discomfort if taken on an empty stomach

Mild diarrhoea (magnesium laxative effect at higher doses)

      Chalky taste

Less common:

      Hypercalcemia with excessive prolonged use

Hypervitaminosis D with prolonged high-dose use

      Kidney stones in susceptible individuals

Abdominal cramping with high magnesium doses

NOT RECOMMENDED IN

      Hypercalcemia or hypercalciuria

Severe renal impairment (magnesium accumulation risk)

      Hypervitaminosis D

Do not exceed recommended daily calcium and vitamin D intake from all sources combined

DRUG INTERACTIONS

Calcium reduces absorption of iron, bisphosphonates, tetracyclines, and fluoroquinolones; take these medications separately. Thiazide diuretics combined with calcium increase hypercalcemia risk. Digoxin toxicity risk is increased by hypercalcemia. Magnesium reduces absorption of tetracyclines and fluoroquinolones; take separately. Vitamin D toxicity risk is increased with concurrent high-dose vitamin D supplementation.

STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Shake well before use. Keep tightly closed. Keep out of reach of children.
