BETA- F CREAM

BETA- F CREAM ONLINE AT BEST PRICE IN PAKISTAN

GENERIC: Betamethasone Valerate 0.1% + Fusidic Acid 2% Cream

MANUFACTURER: Atco Lab Pharma (Pvt) Ltd

QUANTITY:

15g per pack

INDICATION

Beta-F Cream is a combined topical corticosteroid and antibiotic preparation indicated for the treatment of inflammatory skin conditions where bacterial infection or risk of bacterial infection coexists with inflammation. It is used for infected eczema and dermatitis, impetiginized eczema, infected psoriasis, secondarily infected contact dermatitis, infected seborrheic dermatitis, and other inflammatory skin conditions complicated by Staphylococcus aureus or Streptococcus pyogenes infection.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Betamethasone valerate is a potent (Class II to III) topical corticosteroid that suppresses the inflammatory cascade in the skin by binding to glucocorticoid receptors and modulating transcription of anti-inflammatory genes, reducing cytokine, prostaglandin, and leukotriene production, which controls redness, swelling, itching, and scaling. Fusidic acid is a steroidal antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to elongation factor G (EF-G) and preventing translocation of peptidyl-tRNA on the ribosome, causing bacteriostatic and bactericidal activity particularly against Staphylococcus aureus, including many methicillin-sensitive strains. The combination addresses both the inflammatory and infectious components of secondarily infected skin conditions in a single preparation.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Apply a thin layer to the affected skin area 2 to 3 times daily

Gently rub into the affected area until absorbed

Course of treatment should not exceed 2 weeks to limit the risk of Fusidic acid resistance development

Always follow the dosage and duration prescribed by your dermatologist

SIDE EFFECTS

Common:

Mild burning, stinging, or irritation on application

Skin dryness at the application site

      Mild erythema

      Folliculitis with prolonged use

Less common:

Skin atrophy and striae with prolonged corticosteroid use

Development of Fusidic acid resistance with prolonged use (limit treatment to 2 weeks)

Hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal suppression with extensive or prolonged application

Secondary fungal or other non-staphylococcal infection with corticosteroid use

NOT RECOMMENDED IN

      Acne rosacea and perioral dermatitis

Fungal or viral skin infections without appropriate systemic treatment

Known hypersensitivity to betamethasone, Fusidic acid, or any excipient

Avoid prolonged use (beyond 2 weeks) to prevent Fusidic acid resistance

DRUG INTERACTIONS

Topical preparations at the dermatological application site have minimal systemic drug interactions. Widespread use on large body surface areas may result in systemic corticosteroid absorption with relevant interactions. Fusidic acid at topical doses does not produce clinically significant systemic drug interactions.

STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS

Store below 25°C away from direct sunlight. Keep tube tightly closed. Keep out of reach of children.
