INDICATION

Analgesic Cream 35gm Serne is a topical counterirritant and analgesic cream indicated for the temporary relief of mild to moderate musculoskeletal pain including muscle aches, backache, arthritis pain, sprains, strains, and joint pain. It is used as an adjunct to rest and physiotherapy in the management of soft tissue injuries and overuse musculoskeletal conditions.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

The topical analgesic cream works through counterirritant and sensory modulation mechanisms. Methyl salicylate is a rubefacient that, after absorption through the skin, inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes locally, reducing prostaglandin synthesis and inflammation at the application site. Menthol activates TRPM8 cold receptors in sensory nerve fibers, producing a cooling sensation that modulates pain perception through the gate control theory of pain, reducing the perception of deeper musculoskeletal pain. DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

•      Apply a small amount to the affected area 2 to 4 times daily

•      Gently massage into the skin until absorbed

•      Do not use with heat pads, tight bandaging, or occlusive dressings; keep away from eyes and mucous membranes

SIDE EFFECTS
